The title to my first post, “My Journey Begins…”, refers to my journey of blogging. When I created my page 2 years ago, I had no clue what to write about or how to even organize my thoughts. But to be honest, I was completely ignorant on how to maneuver through WordPress. And this year, I’ve taken a new approach on how to do things rather than attempting to pay someone to do it for me. I’ve decided to take the time out and do it myself. So here I am…
I officially launched and branded ‘Girl on a Mission’ in 2015. Since then I’ve traveled to Hong Kong, Philippines, Guam, Haiti, all the New England States (with the exception of Connecticut), Seattle, Tennessee, (DC) Maryland, and Hawaii, in search of women with stories to tell that. This includes (all) stories. Not limited to just the stories that people find appropriate to write about.
Some would think that #girlonamission was intended to be about me when in fact, it was founded off the love and inspiration of many woman that surrounded me throughout the years. Each time I came in counter with a woman of inspiration, I would tag #girlonamission. Then each time I would go on a journey to a new country, or attend a Presidential Inauguration, or have a conversation with a President, I would tag #girlonamission. From then on, #girlonamission took off without me having to lead the way.
Somewhere throughout my journey, I took a step out of myself and viewed it from the outside. I then realized I’ve done some pretty unimaginable things and met some pretty amazing women. And all I could think about was sharing these stories for the world to understand that life isn’t all about Starbucks and iPhones.
There are so many women out there that have done some amazing things in their lives but were never recognized for their hard work, dedication, compassions, talents, and so on. You’d be surprised what you can learn from a woman that you know nothing about. And… this is where my blogging begins. Join in my journey as I search for women with stories so that they not only get the opportunity to share their stories with me but get the opportunity to share their stories with the world.
